Bayshore Live Oak Park in Port Charlotte: Reopening Progress |
Ongoing restoration efforts moving along slowly to bring back a favorite community space |
Bayshore Live Oak Park in Port Charlotte, FL, remains closed as of late July 2025, with restoration efforts progressing slowly. Following significant hurricane damage, the park has been undergoing extensive repairs and habitat restoration.
As of July 7, 2025, the design phase for the replacement of the westernmost fishing pier is complete, and an exemption permit has been approved through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
However, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers denied an emergency permit, necessitating a new submission for a complete permit based on revised design requirements. Currently, the project is in the permitting review stage with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
How's that for "Rad Tape"? Residents have expressed both anticipation and frustration regarding the park's reopening.
While the timeline for Bayshore Live Oak Park's full reopening remains uncertain, the ongoing efforts reflect a commitment to restoring this cherished community space.
We'll keep you informed periodically through official channels for the latest updates on the park's status.can you |
